Fire extinguishers are not legally required in your private home. However, they are recommended for optimal protection against fire.
Fire extinguishers are always legally required in all buildings that are accessible to the public. This is the case for stores, restaurants, museums, hotels, B&Bs, offices, business premises, production areas, event areas (also temporary), as well as student houses and the common parts of apartment buildings.
